Christmas or New Years in the Woods East Hampton Northwest Woods 275 3bd

Wineries, sledding, hiking or just sitting by the fire and relaxing? Your choice! This gorgeously landscaped three bedroom/ two bath home located in a harborfront community in the serene Northwest Woods area of East Hampton is ready to become your cool-weather escape. The house is only a short 2 blocks away from an exclusive path onto Three Mile Harbor, 5 minutes from beautiful beaches (fly a kite!) and less than 10 minutes from East Hampton Village, amazing farms and scenic hiking trails, though you might be tempted not to leave your private getaway at all . . . Why schlep up to the Catskills, when the Hamptons are a straight-shot and you can be secluded in the woods and enjoy the changing seasons while still having easy access to creature comforts (great restaurants and wines, Citarella, gourmet cheese shops, legendary bagel stores, etc. within a 5 minute drive!) There is a full, well-stocked kitchen (all-clad, williams sonoma, etc.) and our large modern farm table can seat your whole crew (with booster seats if needed!)

This newly updated “saltbox” features a large and completely private heated pool and outdoor shower (closed mid-October through May), central heat and AC, cathedral ceilings, travertine fireplace and french sliding doors opening to the large decked area with master Weber gas grill BBQ. It has newly appointed modern designer furnishings, stainless steel kitchen appliances, espresso maker, wet bar, wireless internet, iPod-ready indoor/outdoor stereo, big down comforters and high thread-count sheets, and many other amenities. Perfect for 2 couples or a family- sleeps up to 6 people. Situated on a quiet dead-end/ cul-de-sac on over half a wooded acre, the property feels wonderfully secluded, with flowering trees, stone walls and pathways, landscaped grounds, and multiple areas for outdoor recreation and relaxation. Come watch the incredible diversity of birdlife at our feeders from the warmth of the indoors, or check out the wildlife on hikes outside. The house, while a luxury escape, is also very family and child friendly (see our website for more details).

We still have some availability for weekly and weekend rental in December, including for CHRISTMAS WEEK. You can see more info, availability, rates and photos of the house at WWW.EASTHAMPTONESCAPE.COM. Please send an inquiry with the number of days and number in your party for specific rates. $275/night in December and January ($50/ night additional over holiday weekends). Strict 3 night minimum policy.

NOTE: WE WILL ALSO BE LISTING THE HOUSE AGAIN FOR SUMMER 2012, SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US IF YOU’RE THINKING AHEAD.

================== AND HERE’S SOME MORE ABOUT OUR COTTAGE …..

We are in the heart of the Green Mountains between Killington and Stratton/Bromley. We have beautiful (spectacular!!) views off to the west and northwest (great sunsets). Our cottage sits on a hill surrounded by stately maples and open pastures. It sits at 2100 feet above sea level and overlooks a lake with a 75 mile view across the mountains of Vermont and into New York State (we see the highest mountain in NY). We are one mile from Star Lake which has a beach and boat access. The cottage is very private being surrounded by 180 acres of our land, and hundreds more acres of friends, family and the State of Vermont. We have our own trail network for hiking, snowshoeing and xc skiing, and there’s lots of other hiking all around the town and local area. On our land across the road from the cottage there are four beaver ponds that string along a brook that runs into Star Lake.

….. and we have a moose that visits every now and then [EMAIL us for this picture and many others].

Although private, this house is in the heart of the Vermont ski and tourist area so there are lots of restaurants, shops, and activities within 5 to 10 miles (Mt. Holly, Ludlow, Weston, etc.)

=============== AND HERE’S SOME COMMENTS FROM OUR GUESTS:

Dear Ron and Dottie,
Well, we’re finally making the difficult transition ‘back to the land called work’ after our awesome visit to your ‘bit of heaven on earth’. Indeed our stay at your heavenly haven refreshed both our spirits and bodies, and put Vermont on the “must see again & again” list of places to visit. What a perfect way for us to have celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Hey, we may not have spotted your neighborhood moose, but he was tracking us!! What excitement we got from spotting his fresh tracks on our way back from clumping down to see one of the beaver dams on your property!!
What can I say, our stay in your ‘little’ cottage changed our lives…. Hey, I’m getting ready to put kindling in our ‘never used before’ fireplace, just to bring back some Belmont ambience to our San Diego nest!! (That fire-stoking bit is an AMAZING new activity for this San Diego native to start doing, trust me on this one!!
I hope this note finds you and Dottie well…….
Drop us a line now and again to keep us posted on your lives, ok? Now that we’ve touched each other, you’re in our hearts forever; you can’t get out of it!
Hugs,
Pat … and Denny, San Diego, CA

Ron and Dottie-
Thank you for a wonderful week in Vermont. It is so beautiful, especially with your fall leaves. May we ask a favor — could you email the photos of the moose that visited us during our stay — we want to add them to a CD we are doing of our vacation.
The Ruebens, Brazil

Dear Ron and Dottie-
Thank you for the use of your lovely cottage. All the charming touches, from fresh flowers to the welcoming gifts, made us feel so welcomed. The country-side is lovely and we so enjoyed sitting on the deck to view its beauty. I hope we’ll come back again. This is truly a gem.
Many blessings,
Judy M. and family, Mass.

What a great place you have (we should be paying extra for the fabulous sunsets!!), and we LOVE Belmont. We had two wonderful weeks. Next year we’d like to come for a month! [PS, they did -- Ron]

We had the most fabulous ski season. Your cottage made our winter escape an absolute treat. The views were delightful, the coziness of the cottage felt like home away from home. We all had such a lovely time we just have to come back. Thank you so much for allowing us to share your home.
Ed B., NY

Dear Ron and Dottie–
Thanks very much for letting us enjoy your very comfortable cottage. The photos we’d seen both in the brochure and on the internet didn’t do justice to either the clean and modern facilities, nor the marvelous views. We look forward to returning some day. Many thanks again.
Shirley & Andrew B., Great Britain
