Our six and a half month “summer” is made up of music, mojitos, magic sunsets, ocean views and very happy campers…we offer fourteen Fire Island weekends (and totally free midweek access) for the price of a “quarter share”…(this is not a misprint)…$1975…we kid you not!

We are a completely eclectic, slightly wacky, totally relaxed, unpretentious and easygoing group of friendly professionals and artists…

We are just six doors from the ocean…on the beach block of secluded Seabay Walk, surrounded by the National Wildlife Preserve that separates Seabay Beach from Kismet and Saltaire. A short peddle to Fair Harbor, Dunewood, Lonelyville and Atlantique. The water taxi ride is about ten minutes to Ocean Beach…or you can bike half way and walk the rest. We are nowhere near the overdressed and stressed out parking lot known as the Hamptons!

We are now only two female shares (or one couple) away from being totally SOLD OUT. More than half of our available shares have been taken by housemates returning from last summer…with the rest going to new friends…so we must be doing something right!

Our “short term midweek shares” go for $90 per person for the first night and $75 for each additional night…that’s $315 for a four night midweek stay at the beach…COUPLES (or two singles in the same room…or just one person who wants to lock in a private bedroom) get a midweek discount…stay 3 nights and get the 4th night FREE…that’s $480 total for YOUR OWN PRIVATE BEDROOM (that’s the total price for the ENTIRE ROOM, NOT PER PERSON) for a complete midweek…in a magnificent beach house just six doors from the ocean…from anytime on Monday to Friday afternoon! Please note that we have a minimum of a two night stay.

Short Term Midweek Shares are designed for someone who works on weekends or simply has no idea in advance of what his or her work schedule is going to be from day to day. Among others, we have had writers, teachers, actors, performance artists, club owners, bartenders, chefs, and freelance film production people take full advantage of this idea.

Recent Major improvement and expansions to our high rated 8 year old home on Shelter Island has made it even bigger, better and more luxurious. An exciting major construction project at Our Hamptons beach house are complete, we have added a 3rd level’s bringing the home to over 3,000 square feet and 4 1/2 Bedrooms.
The additions to Shelter Island Hideaway include a new bedroom, a 4th large luxury marble floored master bath with 2 modern glass vessel sinks, a large laundry room that include brand new high end Washer and Dryer. An Office/Study area, and a 28′ x 15′ media room with wood floors, a high end Flat screen TV with 1500 Watts 5.1 Surround Sound complete the new level. The new level also has 12′ of French glass doors that lead out to a new (second) covered outside area with slate floors and finished walls and lighting, comfortably furnished. The addition includes over 1,000 sq.. feet of interior space and 800 sq.. feet of exterior covered porch/patio space. 
Martha Stewart wall to wall carpeting has been installed the upper level. The kitchen though just 8 years old has been completely remodeled and updated, including a professional level stainless steel side by side refrigerator, a 5 burner Professional convection gas range, new Professional Series Microwave as well as a Kitchen Aide stainless inside and out dishwasher. The all new counter tops are beautiful solid surface high end SileStone and there is a glass tile backslash. 
Our vacation beach house, now even grander, with it’s 4 full baths, 4 large bedrooms, plus the small loft area with couch bed that can be used as a fifth bedroom. Luxuriate in any of the 4 oversized showers and 2 large heated Jacuzzi soaker bathtubs (1 in each of the main levels en-suite bedrooms) and 7 bathroom sinks. Our house is very comfortable, it has 3,000 square feet of interior space and the 3 outdoor porch spaces add close to another 2,000 square feet of outdoor space connected directly to the home.
Our vacation beach house is now even even grander, with 4 full baths, 4 full bedrooms, plus the small loft area with couch bed that can be used as a fifth bedroom. The house now has 4 oversized showers and 2 oversized heated Jacuzzi soaker bathtubs in the en-suite bedrooms, and 7 bathroom sinks with 3,000 square feet of interior space and the 3 outdoor porch spaces add close to another 2,000 square feet of outdoor space connected to the house..

The Perfect Beach House Experience

This is a special place. The main house is lovely — open, airy, beautifully furnished, comfortable with one of those wide wrap-around porches that beckon you to sit, read, relax, chat. I ended up spending almost a whole day in this incredible spot. The grounds are also lovely — the pool, the lawn and being one block from a quiet, almost private-feeling beach was incredible. The “cottage” is also an incredible place€”a jewel in the crown. It’s also an open, airy space with its own entrance, pool(s) and rock stream. The property is truly a paradise and Shelter Island is really magical. Once you get on the ferry, you really feel that you’re “away.” I had a wonderful time here.

We had such a great time here, and love, love, love this house. Shelter island is a great low-key vacation spot, and this house offers the perfect opportunity to take advantage of it. The pool is great, the hammock is true paradise, and the open nature of the house is great for groups. We had a blast and will recommend it to all of our friends.

Shelter Island Hideaway Vacation homes is a 4+ bedroom beach home with soaring 35€™ cathedral ceilings. Exceedingly open and bright with 7 skylights bringing in natural light to almost every room in the house. There are 4 Master Bedrooms, 2 of which are En-Suite with oversized heated Jacuzzi soaker Tubs and oversized Showers, water closet and twin pedestal sinks. The third large bedroom is on the upper floor, it too has its own full bath. The 4th (new) bedroom is on the just completed lower level which also features a new marble floor full bath and marble floor laundry room and huge media room. The 3rd floor bedroom has 12 foot Glass French Doors that lead to the private upper balcony with water views. The upper floor also has an additional reading/music/game room with a pullout couch bed, perfect for children or a Nanny. The new media room has a huge flat screen with surround sound and unlimited streaming videos.
The kitchen is appointed with granite counters and backslash includes a lovely breakfast nook that seats 6-7. Walk directly from the kitchen through the glass French Glass doors to the porch and the outdoor dining area. Preparing meals? Choose from cooking indoors or take advantage of the beautiful property and the great outdoors. Outdoor cooks can choose between 2 Weber BBQ Grills, either a gas or Charcoal BBQ grill.
The middle level of our house features a wall of Glass French Doors that open to the India slate tiled 77′ wrap around porch and a large indoor dining table with 2 extra leafs to seat even more, comfy seating in front of the gas fireplace. The huge wrap around porch overlooks the fenced in yard and pool and is perfect for reading, relaxing, or hosting parties. Be comfortable with all new furniture including a sectional sofa, dining table, teak table and chairs as well as additional seating. The 20′ x 40′ 8′ deep pool and beautifully landscaped fenced in grounds are private.
Across the street is the semi-private waterfront where each nights spectacular sunsets surpass the previous. We have a very quiet 3/4 mile long semi private beach just across the street, perfect for swimming and boating. We have some of the Islands BEST sunsets every night at our beach, no permits necessary, either walk across the street of load your car up and drive, no permit needed. Opposite the beach is an inlet area called crab creek that is calm as can be and great for kayaking, canoeing or just floating and swimming. Permits are only needed for town” beach parking, they run $35 a week, or $75 per month and can be obtained at the Shelter Island Town Hall at 38 North Ferry Road, 631 749-0015. . Their are 3 large ones on the Island, the closest is 1 3/4 mile away, Sunset Beach (Crescent Beach). Their is a motel. restaurant/bar there and you can do day parking for $10 a a day of you choose. Beach permits are available from the town by the day, week or season. Take the kids swimming, or grab one of the Margarita or Martini glasses and head over to watch the areas most gorgeous of sunsets.
Included with your rental is our wonderful grounds keeper Mariano. Mariano tends to the plants, the landscaping, the lawn and any needed repairs, he is there a 1-2 days a week.
From your 2 outdoor porches you can gaze across your private retreat, the wood fenced property includes more than a dozen different types of flowering ornamental trees such as Cherry, Dogwood, Lilac, Pear, White Birch, Russian Olives, and our famous Butterfly Bushes that attract butterflies non stop from Spring to Fall. There are also many species of Cedar and Pine that remain green year round.
Need a little exercise or just a pleasurable diversion? Jog or take a ride one of the included bicycles, down the charming tree canopied Nostrand Parkway past the beautiful multi-million dollar estates and mansions along the waterfront. Shelter Island is great for its many beaches, and quiet streets. The famous Sunset Beach/ Crescent Beach is just a bit more than a mile away.
There are many terrific dining choices both on Island and in nearby North and South Forks. Have breakfast at one of the town favorites, great egg sandwiches at the popular “Stars” is a choice spot for Islanders and visitors alike. For dinner that is unsurpassed anywhere visit the place where the movie and TV stars, locals and visitors alike dine the elegant and awesome food of (recently on The Food Network) Vine Street Café If you or go to where you also might bump into a yacht owner (Barry Diller?) or a TV and movie stars gazers go, the very cosmopolitan Sunset Beach Hotel and bar and restaurant. Sweet Tomatoes is another island favorite for extremely good Italian Food.
There are many more places to dine, we will give you maps and the low down when you arrive, and we will assuredly fill you in on all the hot spots , etc. For take home gourmet meals and food, you can visit Redding Gourmet and take home one of they’re amazing Long Island Crispy Ducks and other gourmet treats. How about staying home and firing up the BBQ? Choose the Weber gas grill, or the Weber charcoal grill, go to one of the Islands fresh fish markets Bobs and Commander Cody’s or the IGA grocery store on the Island. There are other smaller markets including a newly opened Deli just a mile away, 2 liquor stores, a few ice cream shops and many other choices on Island.
If you prefer to go off Island the two ferries will whisk you on a few minute ferry ride where there are unlimited choices of places to go. The 2 ferries are about 3 miles to either the 8 minute ride on the Greenport North Fork Ferry (Wine tasting, quaint towns, antiquing and more) and the 3 minute ride on the South Ferry to Sag Harbor and the Hamptons. If you like drive just a bit further to the big waves of Montauk.
Shelter Island is peaceful, relaxing, tranquil and bucolic. There is way too much to write here what you can do in the area, but we supply you with maps, and many different books, and weekly periodicals that will showcase the places you want to visit while on our beautiful Island. We of course will be able to give you the complete lowdown of what to do and where to go and what is happening locally during your stay.

Relax and enjoy an original, charming two-family beach house in Kismet, Fire Island located two houses from the bay on Sea Bay Walk and two blocks from the beach.

The house features upper and lower decks with spectacular sunset and bay views, outdoor shower, gas barbeque, washer/dryer. The lower level is rented by another group of tenants, and both sets of tenants share these amenities.

You would be renting the upstairs unit with its own entrance. There are 3 Bedrooms – one room has one full sized bed and the other two rooms have 2 twin sized beds in each room. There is a full bath with shower and bathtub. The house is child friendly but not child proofed. Also, there are no pets allowed in the house.
